Med-E.R.R.S. StaffThe Med-E.R.R.S. staff consists of healthcare professionals who collectively have over seventy-five years of clinical experience and twenty-five years of medication safety experience. Susan M. Proulx, PharmD is President of Med-E.R.R.S. She earned both a BS in Pharmacy and PharmD degrees from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and completed an ASHP Residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Her previous professional experience includes both community and hospital pharmacy practice with eight years affiliation with the Medical College of Pennsylvania and its hospital in clinical and program director positions. Prior to joining ISMP in 1995, Dr. Proulx was a Pharmaceutical Consultant, as well as Director of Business Development for ADIS International. She is a preceptor for students from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Temple University, School of Pharmacy. She is a regular columnist for US Pharmacist and frequently invited as a lecturer for state, national, and international healthcare organizations. Nancy J. Globus, PharmD is Director of Operations at Med-E.R.R.S. Dr. Globus joined Med-E.R.R.S. in 2001 as a Medication Safety Analyst and served in this capacity until January 2007. Prior to her position at Med-E.R.R.S. she practiced pharmacy at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She also brings with her experience from the pharmaceutical industry and the medical communications industry. Dr. Globus received her early pharmacy training in her family’s community pharmacy, and earned her BS in Pharmacy from Rutgers College of Pharmacy and her PharmD degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. She completed a residency in Pharmacy Practice at the Memorial Hospital at Easton, Maryland. Kristine Needleman, RPh is a Medication Safety Analyst for Med-E.R.R.S. Ms. Needleman earned a BA in Chemistry and History from Albion College and a BS in Pharmacy from Ferris State University. Ms. Needleman has taken courses towards her Master of Science in Biomedical Writing at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Before joining the Med-E.R.R.S. team in 2002, she worked as a clinical pharmacist at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. In addition to her clinical activities there, Ms. Needleman was a member of the Medication Variance Committee and editor of the pharmacy newsletter. Prior to her relocation to Pennsylvania, Ms. Needleman worked as a clinical pharmacist at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. Ms. Needleman also has several years experience in community pharmacy.
Marci Lee, PharmD is a Medication Safety Analyst for Med-E.R.R.S. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. In June 1999, she completed an ASHP accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, PA. In July 2000, she completed a Safe Medication Management Fellowship at ISMP. Upon completion of her fellowship, Marci worked for Med-E.R.R.S. until her family relocated to Maryland. From June 2001 to June 2004, she worked as a Safety Evaluator in the Division of Medication Errors and Technical Support (DMETS) in the Office of Drug Safety at FDA. During her employment at FDA, Marci was a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service. Marci’s professional experience also includes community pharmacy practice. Marci has served as a preceptor to students from the Temple University School of Pharmacy Drug Safety Certificate Program. Stephanie DeGraw, PharmD is a Medication Safety Analyst for Med-E.R.R.S. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy with a Certificate in Drug Safety from Temple University School of Pharmacy. She brings several years of experience from the community pharmacy setting. In addition, she has worked with ISMP as reviewer for ISMP Medication Safety Alert! Community/Ambulatory Care Edition newsletter. Stephanie also worked with Med-E.R.R.S. as an outside consultant before joining the team full time in 2007. Michael J. Gorham is a Market Development Representative for Med-ERRS. He earned a BA in Anthropology from Temple University. In 2000, he worked in the IT field as a computer technician and earned various certifications, such as the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA). Starting in 2003, Michael began a career in the healthcare industry as a sales and marketing professional, promoting both respiratory and hospice services to hospitals, physicians, and long-term care communities. Utilizing his IT experience, in 2007, he created and developed www.mypatientguide.com, a website designed for individuals searching for long-term care and homecare options throughout New Jersey. Michael Gorham joined the Med-ERRS team in May, 2008.
